DWS Exeter

The Quay is home to Deep Water Solo Exeter – the most unique climbing event in the UK climbing calendar!  The event debuted in 2014 with sunny skies and intrepid participants and went on to be followed in 2015 by slightly wetter conditions but a great party atmosphere and sunshine again in 2016.  With the stunnig Entre-Prises UK built wall and routes set by the team behind Blokfest, climbers get some stunning routes with surprises each year form the ‘hanging ball’ and new ‘jump to the bell’ feature to speed tests in the final round!

The event will return in 2019!  We’ve received lots of enquiries about Deep Water Solo Exeter and are stoked at the enthusiasm of climbers for the event.  We were hoping to stage DWS  in August 2018 but have taken the decision to postpone the event until Summer 2019 due to building works that are planned for part of the Piazza and staging area during the late spring and summer. We do not feel the event will have the same atmosphere or capacity if there are ongoing works in the area and our utmost concern is for the enjoyment and safety of those taking part and spectating. The team behind the event and Entre-Prises UK all remain committed to bringing DWS back to Exeter with a new wall in 2019.

Thank you as ever for your support – we love DWS and look forward to hosting it again.  In the meantime, here’s some memories of the past events!
